Analyzing flight log files
Flight log files downloaded using INF Log Reader II can be opened with Excel and visualized using Excel's built-in charting tools.
Step 1
After downloading the flight log file, there should be two files, one with the extension (.blog) and the other with the extension (.csv). Please use Excel to open the file with the extension (.csv). This manual will use a random flight log file as an example. This flight log file has no special meaning.
To analyze the relationship between the throttle command and the actual motor speed, please refer to the following steps: Locate the S5 record value in the BB column. S5 represents the throttle command output by the flight controller to the motor; the higher this value, the higher the motor speed should be. Next, locate the RPM value in the BP column. RPM represents the actual motor speed; the higher this value, the higher the motor speed.
Left-click on the BB field to select all values in the S5 field.

Step Two
Use the toolbar above to switch to the [Insert] page and select the first option for a flat line chart.

Step 3
The resulting chart is a chart of S5 relative to time.

Step Four
Use the same steps described above to generate a graph of RPM versus time and compare the two graphs side-by-side as shown in Figure 1-4. Note that the two graphs should show a roughly proportional relationship (the higher the S5 value, the higher the RPM should be). However, because the motor has a slow start function, when the throttle is increased from a low point, the RPM needs a period of time to slowly accelerate to a stable speed. This section is called slow start. Please ignore this section when comparing because the speed in this section is not applicable to a proportional relationship.
